“We are Nature’s creations and as such we have a duty to respect, preserve and protect it.”
Always in a hurry in our dull daily round, we can’t notice what’s happening to her. But what happens when during our free time or the weekend we decide to go get some fresh air, go to a picnic, do sports, play with our kids in a park or learn something new about our country’s history or just admire the greatest of all creators – Nature? It all sounds so wonderful that we’re sure you already wish you were outside now, but what happens in reality?
We go to our favorite picnic site and we’re horrified to find out that we can’t enjoy it anymore because there is an enormous sign “PRIVATE PROPERTY – NO TRESSPASSING”. We go to the nearby park or the neighboring children’s playground but they’re not there anymore, there is a big ditch where concrete is being poured – the future foundations of yet another block of flats. We go to the forest, it’s beautiful. Green all around us, birds are singing, flowers, herbs, and air, clean mountain air. We inhale deeply, but forget to exhale – what a sight before us! A huge bare space filled and only trunks of fallen trees there…”
A composition entitled “Nature – that’s me” by Nikoleta Mihaylova, 19 years of age, Burgas
“In the tiny palms of beauty only Strandzha fits”
Anamaria Koeva, 13 years of age, Burgas
“Through their experiences in nature children learn and grow. Games help the child get to know himself and the others better. It’s not confined to physical activity, it turns the child into an explorer and provokes his development. Every child needs to play to the full in order to develop his capabilities and skills.”
“Every child has a unique personality with their own qualities, interests, skills and education needs. When kids with different skills have the opportunity to communicate in nature’s surroundings they discover things common to all of them, and not differences.”
Did you ever think of the legacy we’ll leave our kids? What example are we going to give them?
