Dear Mr. Todorov,
In relation to the draft amendment of the Master Plan of the city of Stara Zagora and the areas surrounding the city, endorsed with Decision No 1158 under Protocol 55 from 26.05.2011 in its part for Bedechka Park/District, Let Nature Remain in Bulgaria Coalition of Non-Governmental and Civil Groups expresses its approval of the policy of Stara Zagora Municipality in response to public sentiments and demands for dealing with issues of construction and logging in Bedechka Park, and also expresses approval of the spirit of the draft.
In the same time, we object to the envisaged zones for construction, sports and attractions, etc., which is in contradiction with the factual situation and with public interest. We call for strict adherence to the zones for parks, gardens and greenery.
We believe that public interest will be in the center of the park management policies of the Municipality of Stara Zagora, and that interests of property owners on the area of the park can be satisfied outside of its area. Bedechka Park is one of the biggest parks in Stara Zagora and is of key importance for the quality of life in the city.
We request our opinion to be taken into account during forthcoming public discussions of the draft, on 20.01.2017 before endorsement of the draft amendment.
