The guide is funded by the Bulgarian-Dutch project New Thracian Gold (NTG), which aims to encourage sustainable development in the Eastern Rhodopes. The Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Traicho Traikov, and the Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands Riny Bus are expected to participate in the press conference. They will receive the first Bulgarian-language and English-language copy of the guide.
The visitors of the EXPO will have the opportunity to buy the Eastern Rhodopes guide at a special price from the NTG stand in Hall 2 of Inter Expo Center.
The guidebook presents the cultural, historical and natural attractions of the Eastern Rhodopes with detailed text and photos. It also offers a trove of practical information on active recreation, selected hotels, B&Bs and restaurants, transport links and tourist information centers. The prize-winning photo and the itinerary which won the 2011 NTG contest "The Eastern Rhodopes: taste the wild nature" are also included.
The guidebook is published in two separate versions: Bulgarian and English. Its author is Georgi Palahutev, a passionate traveler and photographer.
The first guidebook to Eastern Rhodopes is published one year after the New Thracian Gold put out a tourist map of the region. The two editions make a perfect tool to guide tourists along the cultural and natural highlights of this amazing region. New Thracian Gold further continues its tourism promotion as it is producing now a specialised field guide for nature tourists. This Crossbill Guide to the Eastern Rhodopes (in English) will be published in 2013.
The project New Thracian Gold participates for the third time in HOLIDAY & SPA EXPO.
The visitors to the project stand in Hall 2 of the Inter Expo Center can also buy the NTG tourist map at a discounted price, get information about the region and the opportunities for exploring it, meet local tourist entrepreneurs, sign up for tours and participate in a lottery.
