‘Transparent Mountains’: А new platform for civic participation
Which are the “important documents”?

In our case, those are:

2 National Park Management Plans (Rila and Pirin)

2 Natural Park Management Plans (Vitosha and Rila Monastery)

4 General or Specialised Development Plans

8 County Forestry Development Plans (Blagoevgrad, Sofia-city, Sofia-region,
Pernik, Kyustendil, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Smolyan)

2 River Basin Management Plans (West and East Aegean Region)



Why are these documents important?

The Strategic Plans for management of the mountain resources determine
what, when and where it is ENABLED or DISABLED for both individuals and
organisations/companies. In other words, there you can read where you can
go fishing in the Pirin Mountain and where you cannot chop wood in the
Rhodopes.
