Concrete or woods? Hotels or dunes? What policy shall we apply to conserve Bulgarian nature?
• NATURA2000 – a myth or reality?
• What should the state make to give back the commuted forests and dunes?
• Will we be able to conserve century-old forests out of the national parks?
• How should we apply the laws – why does poaching proliferate and why are contested assessments of the effect on the environment issued?
• Do lifts assist or hinder the parks?
• Could the state buy up private forests and lands in order to save Karadere and Irakli?

These are part of the topics whose answer we will seek on 19th May 2014 from 18 o’clock in the Media Hall of the BNR. Since today the debate for forests and biodiversity has started also on the on-line platform WWW.ZELENIZAKONI.COM – section “Biodiversity and forests” where you can see also an expert analysis of the party promises related to these topics during their campaign for the parliamentary elections in 2013.
On the platform the citizens will have the opportunity to discuss and give opinions or ideas on-line on several priority topics, among which biodiversity and forests, climate, spatial development, energy sector and rural development. The open discussions on zelenizakoni.com will also be the basis for a long-term monitoring of the debated public priorities in the context of the actually implemented policies by the different political forces.
A leading project expert who will present in the live debate the accents of the topic “Biodiversity and forests” is Stefan Avramov. A debate moderator is Ivan Bedrov. Expect the announcement of the names of the participants on behalf of the political parties on the day of the live debate – 19th May.
A debate with politicians on the topic “Spatial development” is forthcoming (23rd May 2014, the Red House with a leading expert Toma Belev). More for the project: http://www.zelenizakoni.com/za-proekta
