Covert attempts for permttion of new constrcution, hunting and timber extraction in National park Pirin
On top of that the company "Proles Engineering" Ltd, which is developing the new management plan for Pirin commissioned by the Directorate of National Park Pirin with European financing is working hard to prevent organizations that oppose these ideas to join the discussion. These plans are carried out mainly by the municipalities of Bansko and Razlog and the concessionaire of the Bansko ski zone Ulen Plc.

On December 18, 2014 "Proles Engineering" organized a discussion in a golf club near Razlog. The topics of the discussion were related with long-term objectives and constraints, rules, procedures, conditions and recommendations for the implementation of activities. The e documentation about the regimes, norms and recommendations included in the new plan was published on the site:

on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, just a day and a half before the discussion It becomes clear that the plan includes "the creation of better opportunities and services to the level of best practices for the development of winter sports (alpine, long running, ski-mountaineering, snowmobile races, heli skiing, snowboarding and more) in accordance with the proposals of sports clubs and investment intentions of Razlog, Bansko, Simitli and the concessionaire Ulen Plc."

Three new areas in which construction is permitted have been introduced: "special buffer zone", "zone for tourism" and "zone of chalets, administrative centers for management and maintenance of parks and sports facilities".

We remind that in 2011 after numerous signals from citizens the Minister of Environment Mrs. Nona Karadzhova publically admitted that the concessionaire of the Bansko Ski Zone Ulen Plc. used (that is cut and removed from Pirin National Park) about 650 acres more than what was permitted by the concession. This means that approximatelt 40% of the ski area is illegal and a new attempt to legitimize violations of the law, and to multiply the seizure of the national natural heritage is in process.

Additionally the plan includes permittion for "selective hunting" that supports "game reserves at certain age structure, sex ratio and trophy qualities " in the "conservation zone for forest, alpine, lake and river ecosystems" and "limited human impact zone".

Preservation of national and global wealth of Pirin is a guarantee for long-term sustainable development of the region. Coalition "For the Nature in Bulgaria", "Transparent mountains" and "Green laws" urge every citizen who is interested in the faith of Pirin to take part in the drafting of the new management plan for the National Park with an opinion or suggestion. "Transparent mountains" already collects civil proposals in a specifically designed for the purpose electronic platform.
