Objectives of the working meeting
The objectives of the meeting are improving the cooperation between the River Basin Directorates and the NGOs and supporting the achievement of common approaches in elaboration of RBMP. Being organizers we strongly hope a good feedback to be achieved among the stakeholders about formulating the problems in river management and the possible solutions. We also expect that these consultations with public within the updating of the RBMP will contribute to planning of adequate measures for improvement of the river condition and their successful implementation.
River Basin Management Plans 2010-2015
“Transparent Mountains” reminds that in 2010 in the ecological assessments of RBMP were laid down adequate measures to reduce the negative impact of micro water power stations on rivers. In the next several years, however, the plans themselves and their measures are not well coordinated and this, as well as the lack of experience, has impeded their effective implementation. Since in 2015 updating of RBMP is forthcoming, these problems could be solved in such a way as to remain live rivers in Bulgaria.
Civil participation
The team of “Transparent Mountains” hopes for successful cooperation with MOEW and the separate River Basin Directorates and in this relation it submits its ideas for solution of the current problems with the micro water power stations on the online platform for discussion of RBMP – www.prozrachniplanini.org.
The working meeting is organized by “Transparent Mountains” jointly with WWF Bulgaria and with the support of MOEW.
