The imperial eagle Kralcho cured in the Green Balkans Rescue Centre was found shot near the Elhovo village Malomir some days ago!
The eagle arrived at us in March 2013 from the region of the village of Raykova mogila, Svilengrad. The bird was shot through, with a broken wing and leg. We put in all our capacity, all strengths and knowledge of the veterinary surgeons of the Centre in order to set Kralcho to feet and after we succeeded, a month later we freed it again near Raykova mogila.

Then a series of meetings followed with representatives of hunt companies, RIEW, State forestry in the region. All of them were sorry for the deed but decisively refused to be guilty.

On the day of release, in order to know what happens with the eagle, we put on it a transmitter given by our colleagues from BSBP. After a whole year we had traced the roaming of Kralcho, by the transmitter namely, and again thanks to the BSBP colleagues we managed to find the corpse of the shot bird…

It is sad and pity that so many efforts of so many people did not lead to anything other except the whole saga to repeat again a year later but this time with a lethal end for the eaglet.

Naturally the competent authorities have been notified for the case!
