Green initiative “Don’t disturb us!“
“Don’t disturb us!” campaign is inspired by the newest documentary masterpiece “The salt of the earth” by Vim Venders and his co-producer Juliano Ribeiro Sagado. The film tells the story of Sebastiao Salgado – one of the most talented photographers forever.

The work reveals the life of the legendary artist, who travels around different continents following the rhythm of the changing humanity. Through and via his lens he witnesses one of the most important events in the world history, seals international conflicts, famine, horrible crises and mass migration. Sagado rushes into the discovery of the pristine territories, wild flora and fauna, manages to catch with his camera grandeur landscapes as part of a unique photography project – admiration for the planet beauty while seriously cover the topic for forest conservation from cutting down and the social responsibility for their afforestation.

“At the moment our society exists in incredible contradiction – in order to create the modern world in which we live, we destroy all around us, nature, forests. Now we must restore them back!”, says Sebastiao Salgado.

The film is praised with the Special prize of the jury and the Prize of the Ecumenical jury in the programme “Special look” from the festival in Cannes 2014, with the Prize of the public in San Sebastian 2014 and with the nomination for “Oscar” for the best documentary.

The message of Sebastiao Salgado to keep the untouched forests and to restore the destroyed nature is also one of the missions of the “Transparent mountains” platform. The data show that in Bulgaria only about 4% of the forests are not influenced by human activity. Besides them, in Bulgaria there are also other very valuable forests – the old ones, the protecting ones, the riverside ones, etc. In order to be preserved, these forests should be managed sustainably
During the discussion form “Transparent Mountains” you will learn how important is every citizen to be active in the forest conservation and what the society could do about this problem. On the issue why century-old trees should not be cut off we will hear also the expert position of Alexander Dunchev from WWF Bulgaria. Sofia Film Fest representatives will give away seeds of pedunculate oak and cerris oak to the guests and we will explain you how to plant them.
