A debate on noise, polluted air and the traffic in Sofia

The goal of the debate forum is to highlight these problems in the public agenda, because they can be overcome namely through a dialogue among all stakeholders. That is why representatives of local authorities, civil organizations, experts in the field of city acoustic and quality of atmospheric air, health and patient organizations have been invited as lecturers and as participants at the event.

Concrete data for the level of atmospheric and noise pollution in Sofia will be presented, and the role and efficiency of the plans for their reduction adopted by Sofia Municipality will be discussed. The focus will be on city mobility and motor transport as a main source of pollution. During the discussions the opportunities for citizens to interact with institutions and influence the processes and decisions for development of the city, as well as the role of media in informing the population of the problems in the city environment will be discussed.
