Last call to the State to stop the construction of a new lift outside the concession of Pirin National Park

The urgent reaction of the institutions is needed because photos from last weekend established that the firm had already parked construction material and machinery in the Park and has been preparing to the begin the construction any time soon. The photos however expose also the lie of the offshore company that for the construction of the lift only new-growth trees will be logged where the cut for the lift is. What turns out is that for the construction of the new lift nearly 90 trees have been marked for logging, Macedonian pine, spruce trees, which were grown nearly a century ago.

In this connection, a request has been submitted to the Cadaster Agency and the Ministry of Regional Development and the Environment to check how and with whose help the offshore company has recovered the construction papers for the existing lift Todorka not only without having real right in the Park, but also with servitude of 34 decares, which is double that of the official servitude of the lift, which is 19.3 decares as per the concession contract.

The Coalition “Let Nature Remain in Bulgaria” warns, that if the State refuses to put a stop to that shady affair of DPS and the criminal grabbing of territories in Pirin National Park by one offshore company, this will transfer responsibility for not abiding the laws in Pirin from the Government of Oresharski to the current one of Borisov.
