The tour “Energy awakening” has the aim to popularize the benefits of the introduction of RES (renewable energy sources) installations for use at a household, municipal and small business level. “Green Peace” – Bulgaria offers to the residents and guests of the towns of Radnevo and Stara Zagora three amusing, educational and useful days, which will acquaint them with the opportunities for development of and in the RES sector in their region. This will happen through demonstration of solar devices and appliances, entertaining RES workshops for children, informational exhibition and street theatre performance.
“Green Peace” – Bulgaria believes that the development of the RES sector in our country has to continue in the direction of low-powered (up to 30kw) decentralized RES, implemented at a household and municipal level. The decentralized production of energy from renewable energy sources represents an applicable and accessible alternative. It will allow the households, farms and municipal buildings to produce pure energy and to increase their energy independence.
“The region of Stara Zagora is one of the most affected by the long-lasting state policy, which locks up the sector of the energetics in the Middle Ages, and stops the development of the renewable energy sources. Bulgaria has the potential to utilize energy not only more effectively, but also in a way which won’t pollute the environment. Besides this, in such a way the economy will be aided by creating new work places”, said Teodora Stoyanova, coordinator of the campaign “Climate and energy” at “Green Peace” – Bulgaria.
The residents and guests of Radnevo and Stara Zagora will have the opportunity to become part of “Energy awakening” by visiting the pavilions of “Green Peace” – Bulgaria in Radnevo, at the Central town alley on the 29th of June (Monday) and in Stara Zagora, in park “The 5th of October”(next to the building of the town-hall) on the 30th of June(Tuesday) and on the 1st of July (Wednesday) from the hours of 10:00 to 19:00.
