Open letter to the Prime Minister for urgent measures for Pirin, Vitosha and Rila. New protest on 26th of November

In National Park “Vitosha ” areas are plough up illegally, areas planted by volunteers with trees, bought with funds from Operational Programme “Environment”. These areas surprisingly concur with a plan for the extension of the ski facilities around Aleko Hut, which was cancelled by the Supreme Administrative Court and the Ministry of Environment and Water.
On the territory of National Park “Pirin” is conducted construction of lift facilities, in conflict with the concession contract for Ski Zone “Bansko”and with the Management Plan. With this act, an Offshore company, which is not a concessioner, is on its way to gain eternal real rights upon Exclusive State property.
The Projects for Management Plans considering National Parks “Pirin”, “Rila”and National Prak “Vitosha” and the regimes they suppose, put in imminence the future of the three specially protected areas. There is no adequate reaction from institutions responsible for their preservation.
On 11th of November 2015, thousands of citizens went out on manifestation in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse, Pernik and Sliven with appeal for protection of Rila, Pirin and Vitosha I clearly stated their will, to continue protests, until their 4 claims are fulfilled :
1. Interruption of the construction actions in Vitosha and Pirin IMMEDIATELY.
2. Dismissal of the directors of National Park “Vitosha”, National Park “Pirin” and the remain of responsible persons
3. Bringing the Management plans back for full overworking.
4. The State to attack all constructions, part of the concession in National Park “Pirin”, as a state property, in the direction, that the law demands. This will stop further sales by the concessioner, like way it happened with the lifts on “Shiligarnika” and “Platoto”

The environmentalist remind, they have fulfilled all regulatory actions and expressed expert opinion, regarding the management of the most valuable protected natural zone in Bulgaria, with signals, working meetings, letters and reasoned conclusions directed towards the institutions, as well they have invoked to actions those, who are directly responsible. Hundreds of citizen, also have sent their opinions about the Projects for Management plans.

The environmentalists insist for an urgent meeting, for the rescue of the last places of yet unbiult, undeveloped and preserved nature in Bulgaria. They expect clear borderlines, that a politic of responsible attitude will be realized towards our natural heritage. Responsible manner towards the perspectives for development of a quality tourist product, which is based on our authentic nature and cultural heritage and lies upon awaken for economy local societies.
Up to this moment, none of the competent institutions in the competence of Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment and Regional Development did not react on the requests, that have been raised. This is the reason why Coalition ”For the Nature in Bulgaria” calls every citizen to take part of the manifestation on 26th of November / Thursday/ from 18.30 PM, which appeals to the institutions to give answer to the raised claims.
