The following logical questions arise:
1. Why were only unmarked trees cut down?
2. Why the rush to fell in December – the permit had been issued on December 4, yet it allowed logging activities between December 7 and 31?
3. Was the felling only restricted to this subsection or was there any additional/illegal felling?
4. Why weren’t the biotopes spared – the trees most essential for biodiversity?
5. What will happen to the rare inhabitants of these forests – the pygmy and boreal owl, the three-toed and black woodpecker, the hazel-hen?
6. Are there any goals other than logging – new land clearings over Pachinishte, for instance?
7. Is the government investing millions in brand-new forest roads rational?
