Open letter to Dimitar Berbatov from David Mavrodiev

Mr. Berbatov, I would sacrifice all for my friends. I consider you one of them and therefore, I respect you. But one should response to a friend not with silence and disregard, but by gentle and concerned attitude, as well as by responsible behavior. Was it that difficult to simply answer my question that I raised in March whether you have signed that calumny – that 250 million leva has been obtained by the environmental society…? I couldn’t believe that the text sent to the Prime minister and announced on the media has been signed by you. I was aghast. Moreover, I defended you before my friends that you are not the creator of this disgrace. I still cannot believe that nature could harass the sport that much; that nature advocates like me are called “pseudo-ecologists”. And therefore, I raised my question, but never received your response for over 3 months now. I personally asked you whether what has been written in the letter is your opinion or someone else has the intention to mislead you. Further, my already old question was sent as a comment under your post regarding 3rd March (The Day of Bulgarian Liberation), but still remained unanswered. No, I do not want to dramatize due to your indifference, but I wonder how come a man, who asserts to follow the development of each kid from the Foundation, still couldn’t find my question for 3 months. It is still today unanswered!

I accepted your silence as a sign of acceptance and as a way of confirmation that you agree with the “lampoon”, and regarding your social position, I couldn’t have expected any excuse by you. I belong to the new generation, which do not stand to be ignored and to be held up to find the truth. After my initial disappointment, it was about the time for my new initiative tent to raise your attention and hope that you would share with me your decision within a sentence. Because your answer is important to me! And then I published an announcement in OLX, entitled “Unique medals, as trophies for current businessmen: I sell not one, but two medals for the cosmic price of 250 million. I would give them as a present to the 27 Bulgarian champions, who would give them to their sponsor, who is above the Law, so he can build new hotels, lifts and ski slopes. Who cares about the nature…! I ask to be approached only by serious buyers, but not helpers to “pseudo-environmentalists”, but have countless offshore companies and know KOI personally. As a bonus, I offer around 100 medals, prizes and cups, which are impossible to be purchased on the market, because they are obtained from competitions worldwide and not one republican championship in Shotokan Karate do. Along with these, you receive also over 100 luxury diplomas from journalistic and literature competitions for poets. The set includes a signature for each fan, who has been fascinated by my proposal. Since I have no scholarship or sponsorship, I rely fully on mass support; being 14-years old makes my job not easy and I truly hope at least one financial company to support my campaign under the motto “Let’s collect 250 million for 27 sport champions!” Of course, my announcement was quickly checked, and removed from the webpage together with all the pictures of medals from the Foundation. No announcement, no problem!

But I didn’t reconcile and decided that if I am honored by you, to give you back the prize without a doubt. Because even big like you, a man should learn his lesson that when one signs something he should look in the right direction. And when a kid from the Foundation asks him a question, the answer should be immediate, otherwise one should justifies himself before the nation. If you ask me why I reject your award without trouble, the answer could be found in “Who is she” – one very curious work of art.
