Tourism is in coma – public institutions do not observe the laws
“- If there is no country – we will have to base our own with our rules.”

Pictures and the whole story can be found here: http://www.koralbeach.com/node/415

700 000 levs were urgently allocated by the government for unguarded beaches and for beaches ecological tourism last week. Apparently, the ignorance of the law by the ministries and ministers again led to this complete misunderstanding. Not that it is a bad idea, but without these fund there were enough money set by the law for the purpose (Law on the Black Sea coast, 22a).What happens when the funds enter the municipalities, district administrations and ministries remains a mystery, despite the fact that according to the law these funds must be used precisely for such purposes.

According to our information these 700,000 levs are set for 19 beaches, including 3 beaches for ecological tourism, which means that even if the funds are equally allocated there should be at least 36,842 levs left for Koral Beach. If you add to the sum the funds that are hidden in the municipality, the district administration and the ministry – the amount should be around 100,000 levs. This by law should go for providing safeguards on the beach, cleaning, garbage disposal, toilets, etc. The amount is completely enough for all that.

“We are now 5th of July, the season has begun long ago, and today the sea is stormy and I’ve repeatedly volunteer to rescue potentially drowning people. There is absolutely nothing left on the Koral beach. Yesterday an engine plane flew just 3 meters above the heads of the people on the beach, before this event two 2 dirt motorbikes “ploughed” through the dunes and they motorcyclist would have probably continue if we had not chased them, and just few hours before that 2 speedboats had driven over the heads of swimming people.”

If an unfortunate incident happens, who will be to blame, for the fact that none of the aforementioned abided to and complied with the law - the mayor, the council, the Minister or the Prime Minister?

“Keep Koral” association has taken the first steps on the designation of the beach to inform the people where they are and what it means “beach for ecological tourism”. “- If there is no country – we will have to base our own with our rules. For those who will immediately try to accuse us of being political or for some economical interest – I will say that all this cost us around 200 levs for signs and materials gathered from ourselves.”

The inaction of the public institutions is the main reason for sea tourism to be in full coma. Filth, lawlessness, the concrete and ignorance – which normal tourist would even think to rest under such conditions, let alone visit the sea coast?
And who is hiding money for the unguarded beaches for years is question interesting enough, given that it comes to millions.
