On November 19th, 2008, in the building of the Parliament started a national campaign for announcement of the results of a research for the extents of the swaps phenomenon and for the adoption of political and juridical measures for the return of the gifted to private persons and companies enormous territories of state land.
Despite the support of several political parties and independent deputies, an attempt was made not to allow the NGOs and persons – initiators of the campaign – in the building of the Parliament. Anyway, after one hour delay the stipulated press-conference and fist meeting successfully took part.
The main aims and objectives of the campaign were presented by Hristo Nikolov from Green Balkans. In the discussion took part representatives of the National Anticorruption Coalition, Colaition “Let Nature Remain in Bulgaria”, the two green parties, Svilen Ovcharov from the Green Lawyers, the deputies Ivan Sotirov and Mincho Hristov and many others. A guest of the event was also Bonde – a MEP, who also manifested his support before the group of demonstrating citizens in front of the building of the Parliament.
