The coalition of NGOs and civic groups "Let Nature Remain in Bulgaria" denounces the idea promoted by the investor in Karadere for the creation of a "green board”, as a control structure meant to ensure that the large-scale construction investment is done according to Bulgarian laws and without affecting the surrounding nature.

History shows that the so-called "green boards" are meant to distract the public’s attention, since the individuals and ecological organizations that serve on these boards are allegedly linked to either the investor or the government, both of which may have an interest in the projects. Therefore participation in a "green board" means that the investor is given carte blanche to build up Karadere.
